C2P Community Meeting

It’s been over a year since our last community meeting held on the issue of the Cambridge to Piarere extension of the Waikato Expressway.

Since then I have actively been pursuing the issue on behalf of our community through various letters to the Minister for Transport and meetings with NZTA officials.

I’m keen to provide you with an update on my activities on this issue and to talk about the next steps.  Michael Woodhouse MP, Spokesperson for Transport will join us and topics for discussion at the meeting include:

  • Lack of funding allocated by the Government for the construction of the planned extension to the expressway
  • Current work being done to address aspects of safety on this treacherous road
  • Upgrade of the SH1/29 intersection to a 2-lane roundabout construction starting only in late 2022.
  • Waka Kotahi NZTA’s proposal for Installation of Intersection Speed Zones (ISZs) - no funding is available.

I welcome your views and feedback on this vital issue in our community and look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Please feel free to share this invitation wider to any of your friends, neighbours and networks.
