Cambridge residents are being invited to attend a Friendly Forum hosted by local MP Hon Louise Upston. The event which is to be held on Friday 11 March will include guest speaker Minister Paula Bennett, whose portfolios cover a wide range including climate change, tourism, social housing, state services and finance.

“Paula is an engaging speaker who certainly lights up a room, and I have no doubt that our locals will find the meeting interesting and enjoyable”, Louise says.

“Friendly Forums are a great opportunity for our local community to share their thoughts and ideas directly with their central government representatives.

Given Cambridge’s intensive focus on visitor strategy, Paula will offer some great insights into how rural towns and our region can benefit from growth in the tourism industry into New Zealand,” Louise says.

“Paula will also cover topics such as the state of the government’s financial position heading into Budget 2016, as well as the government’s activities relating to climate change, so anyone with an interest in those areas is encouraged to come along.

“I value hearing the thoughts and ideas on what we can do together to make Cambridge and New Zealand an even better place to live in, and I certainly look forward to seeing you there”, Louise says.

The event is set to start at 10am at the Cambridge Health and Community Centre and the format will include some time to mix and mingle, as well as a question and answer session.  Additional information on the series of Friendly Forums can be found at
